All RC Series windlasses are fitted with Maxwell's unique Wave Design chain wheel This patented rope/chain wheel incorporates two design concepts that greatly improve the handling and control of spliced rode. In combination with a heavy duty, large wire diameter, stainless steel reloaded spring, the pressure arm always exerts maximum control. Fully automatic rope / chain windlass is designed to effortlessly retrieve and deploy 1/4 6mm 7mm spliced 1/2 12mm three strand or 8-Brit plait. The heavy duty stainless steel pressure arm is designed to effectively help grasp the rope/chain splice, giving RC8 an unparalleled level of performance. Features Simple two piece installation saves time and money allows easy retrofitting without disassembly of the windlass. Manual override using the emergency crank handle provided. The ingeniously designed rope/chain gypsy chain wheel is able to accommodate a wide range of chain pitch differences within the specified size diameters suitable for use with RC8 Series.

As the rope pulls into wheel, opposite facing inner ribs grip in an undulating manner, securing more firmly a 'wave pattern' action that is far superior to traditional 'jam cleat' manner of holding. Huge, through deck hawser pipe throat ensures easy entry of the rope/chain rode into and out anchor locker. The outer ribs of the chain wheel are angled slightly forward ensuring that rope and chain smoothly guided in wheel during anchor retrieval. Up/down Panel Switch.

Emergency crank / clutch release handle. Full disassembly capability of the top works utilising only handle provided and an Allen key. Not only does this Wave Design hold the rope more securely, it is also kinder on resulting in increased longevity of your anchor rode.
