It doesn't rotate under load. For this reason it is best absorbing shock loads as the case when lifting or towing. It is a strong, soft, lightweight cord.

Like manila, nylon has good resistance to ultraviolet deterioration from sunlight referred as UV stability. Nylon lasts four to five times longer than natural fibers because it is resistant rot, abrasion, mildew, petroleum products, and most chemicals.

It has excellent shock absorbing elasticity. Solid braided rope stays round, and stands up especially well to chafing of blocks pulleys.
